primer pump on 240D

I have a question on the pump. I tried to turn it by hand left and couldn't budge it. I then tried to turn it right no luck either. Any suggestions on how to get it so it will lift up to pump the line? Why is it so tight?

If it is black it is probably the new style and does not need to be rotated, just press.

It is a clear colored nylon round top. Not for sure how it comes up, didn't want to break it.

It unscrews counter-clockwise from top, then pumps. don't know why it's stuck, but that is how it works

I got it loose it was just super tight. I used a screwdriver on one of the bosses & another to kind of tap with and it started moving. Thanks for the help...just didn't figure it would be that much of a case to deal with.
