Selling a 300D

I am currently selling a 1977 300D. I have a few questions and would like to know if anyone here is interested in it before I unleash it to the ebay/craigslist world. This car was purchased by my grandparents new off the lot and I became the owner when I got my license. It has had a few changes as I will list: The vaccuum locks where replaced with electronic locks and a remote alarm although the siren stopped working so I removed it. I am half way done putting in bmw power seats in it but i will have the stock seats in at time of sale. The bmw seats could be thrown in if wanted. It has a trailer hitch with wiring that has served me well. It has euro style headlights off of ebay. I like the lights but they do not line up 100% (thank you ebay) but they have silverstar bulbs in both high/low and fogs. The grill is painted black with new crome pieces and I have the first two high-milage awards. The current milage is 346,000. I has a new alternator and radiator at around 343,000 miles. My question is what do u think a car like is worth in its current condition.

Post pics and we can be of better help. As for price, diesels tend to fetch the most $$ in the late spring. This is veggie/bio season and it drives the prices up.
If you cant wait til then i would say 1-2,000.

What's my 77 300d worth?

I'm trying to decide whether to sell or donate my 77 300d. It was my Dad's first Mercedes and I remember riding to 7th grade in it (I'm 43 now).
It runs well and has some rust in the usual places. No wreck damage, just the usual dings. Paint is faded but still waxes up nicely. Interior is in great shape. The heater is rigged to bypass the heater control valve (blower on = full heat). I removed the AC compresser years ago. The Alignment is off and last time I had it worked on they said it would require new bushings and the works, (which I didn't do) so now its really off, hard to drive. And, the tranny slips going into high gear. The car is driveable, It was my daily car until the alignment got so bad. It's got 300 to 400k on it (odometer stopped at 150k about 15 years ago). Donating it will get me a $500 tax deduction which will yeild about $200 on my returns. I'm thinking I should be able to get about $500 to $600 for it. Any ideas? I like the tip of waiting 'til late spring to sell it for the Veggie potential. It's definitely a project car for someone with money, or a college car for someone without.
Lyle.

Any teens in the family you can give it to? Another possibility is technical colleges. If you put it on e-bay you will probably get between 500 and 1000 but that would be cash in the pocket.

Thanks, I let my family know I'd give it to any of them if they wanted it, but no go. I may spruce it up, take some photos and put it up on Ebay if I don't get any bites from the local paper. (St. Louis).
Thanks again,
Lyle.
