help! 300D injector pump

Hello all, need some advice with my 80' 300D please. I've been running straight vegi oil in our diesel for the past couple of years without any issues, that is until a couple of days ago. Its been running rough for a couple of weeks and i couldn't figure out why, changed filters purged with injector cleaner and then finally yesterday it just wouldn't start. So i figured lets go back to square one and trouble shoot from there. I drained all the VO from the fuel tank, added 5 gal of diesel, purged the fuel line to the filter of all VO changed both fuel filters. Still wouldn't start, so i loosened the fuel line going into the IP from the filter and cranked the engine and verified fuel is pumping to the IP, loosened the steel lines leading from the IP to the injectors and nothing is coming out. Is there any other test that i can do or is there something simple that i have missed?

please lie to me and tell me i didn't ruin my injector pump

and if my IP is gone does anyone have a used one they would like to part with

Thanks in advance
Burkster

Maybe there is a wonton stuck in it.

How long did you crank it while waiting for fuel to come out of the injector lines?

Welcome! We'll do our best to troubleshoot this thing.

actually you may be rite i collect my VO from a asian eatery just down the street from my house. is there a way to backflush these pumps?

i jumped the battery from my other car and had it running so i could get some good cranks on the engine, the fuel is flowing out like a river at the input to the IP but nothing at all from any of the five steel injector lines coming out of the IP

I am interested to know how this turs out for you. I have not yet done any work with vo, but I might. If it turns out that you need an IP I have one for a non-turbo on my parts motor. 250K PO overheated and blew the head gasket. PM me if I can help.

I'm a noob to these MB IPs But is the stop released? Also, doesnt veggie oil wax up at colder temps? Maybe a small electric heater posed at the IP would soften the buildup enough to fire on diesel.

You want to pump the hand pump a lot! you should hear a low Buzzing noise from the pump. Also you might want to try disconnecting the vac line to the shutoff at he back of the pump and make sure the mannual shut off lever is fully returnung. If the vent line gets plugged turning the key to the on posistion doesn't release the vac to the shut off. How cold has it been where you are? I've heard of cases where it was necessary to pour hot water on the IP repeatedly to melt solidified fat that had coagulated in the pump after shut off.

I have but one question. Please tell me you HAVE been heating your veggie to at least 160 degrees before it ever hit the pump? Or have you been running it cold?

yes i settle and de-water my oil, i also have a injector line heater that heats the oil just before the injectors and before the fuel filter
unfortunilty i was a little sloppy and in a hurry with this last load of oil and didn't settle it as long as i should have and there was allot more fat in the oil then i usually... thus the problem
