Lets call them and offer scrap steel prices for the lot. We could strip them and have an eBay party.

Oh well, It was a good idea while it lasted. (2.5 seconds)

OK, who wants to rent a large car hauler and go save a few?

Man I wish I knew someone with a three or more car hauler to go down there (up?)

Do they have a web site?

I am less than 40 miles away.

I am trying to contact, and see if I can go save a bunch of stuff.

I doubt any of the cars would be worth saving (lots of rust around here) but Im sure there will be loads of parts.

I hope I can make it there.

G'mornin',

Those folks aren't too awful far from me....joined "Benzworld" with same id that I use here....saw the photos....sent them an e-mail asking about W123 cars...will post back if/when I hear something.....:D

Maybe I can get a cheap parts car from them....

Would someone mind posting the pics here? benzworld apparently doesnt allow guests to view such pictures.

Shorebilly 12-09-2006 01:23 PM

Here's the answer I got....

I sent an e-mail as I stated earlier this AM....here's the reply....I hope that he dosen't mind me posting it here for y'all

"Well, first, I am not part of their business, I just went in last week and found out what they were doing and nearly croaked. Yes, there are plenty of 123's that are going to be crushed. Normally it is not a "pick and pull" yard. The normal procedure was always that you called the biz and they either went out and got the parts or told you it was not worth it. [hence the poor biz model and now the crushing]. I don't know what all they have in the W123 range, I did not venture into that section of the yard as it was very cold. I will find a couple of good ones this weekend and let you know.

Maybe one o' those moderator dudes could put some of this info over in the Vintage and Gasser sections....

arcticathlon 12-09-2006 03:49 PM

i just talked to Mark McAllister Bryant on the cell phone, and he said that he is making a Excel spreadsheet of all the items that people are requesting. he has been getting more than 400 emails from people wanting stuff and he will get a crew together on monday, tuesday, and wednesday to pull parts on the list.

The crusher is coming on monday and he will start with the US models, then go on to the cars that are mangles, pulled or cut apart beyond saving.

one thing he did say is that they will NOT crush any coupes, or older 50's cars. and that fintail in the 2nd picture is going to be shipped to singapur!! He also said there are at least 50 W123 cars.

Anyway, Everyone send an email to Bear@McBear.biz with your itemized list of what you want.

i will drive back to arkansas from northeast ohio this christmas, and possibly pick up parts for me and others. then i can ship them to everyone from my house. this might make it easier for the guy to sell his parts, and faster for us to get them. i could rent a trailer in cinci and pull all the parts to my house to ship out. let me know guys
