The car am about to purchase (pic...video)

Here is the car I am about to purchase,at have about 280K runs sounds weary good here is some pictures and I made one video cold start temp.... was about 30F ..........

not bad... im still pissed at myself for not buying an SDL for $2000 just because of the head lights... i suck

Yes you do. Euro lights are readily available. My mom's ole 300SDL came with them. Beautiful car, too bad it had a shady collision history. Those seats were on a totally different level in support and comfort than the ones from my W123. Not to mention the power, brakes, and even stiffer handling.

What was the temperature inside that garage. With a glow cycle that long I'd expect a very smooth, no nonsense start. Probably has a glowplug or two that have died.

Edit: never mind, I can't read. 30 degrees. I still maintain what i said above though.

what is a glowplug? sorry dont know anuthing about thise cars........

diesels operate on compression ignition

wheras gas cars are spark ignite (spark, fuel, air)

diesels (compression, fuel air)

the glow plug just warms the air before the initial start and stays on for maybe a few seconds after.. after that its a controled explosion limited by the fuel unlike a gasser where its limited by the air intake.

But keep this in mind that this car was parked for past two years and we started for the first time yesterday,but I still think that that car sounds pretty good like every other diesel I ever heard............
