Any car can pile on the miles, but what about the best shape at high miles?
SDL 257,000 head never off. Injectors perfect, IP and crank timing perfect, uses no oil. Pulls to 60 in 10 and 1/2 seconds, will break the much wider then stock tires lose during the 1-2 shift.  Original tranny is acting up, probably a rebuild in the not to distant future. She has a few miles, but runs as good as she did in 1987.

Mercedes 300d 362k miles Original tranny shifts perfect The last owner changed the engine with a used one. Runs like a scaled dog.

1987 300D Turbo, my "three year old", 197xxx miles, just makes 30mpg, #14 head, nothing major to speak of...just routine maintenence that i like to do very much and the longer i own it the better it gets
i had an 85 monte carlo with 165xxx miles when i sold it it ran perfectly, i tell ya an 85 chevy with 165K says a lot about the importance of oil changes! but i kinda miss spark plugs now and then. here is a pik

My 81 300 D has the original engine and transmission. With 402,563 miles it’s far from perfect: no ACC, dead sunroof, dead rear passenger side window, leaks in the rain, and no paint on the roof and hood. But it starts easily, no smoke or overheating – the engine spots a bit but nothing serious and no leaks from the transmission. It still cruises easily at 75 and has good pickup for an NA car.

300SD, 229,xxx miles...and runs ok on rotella syn 5w40
W124 300D, 254,xxx miles on mobil 1 5w40 and is faster then my moms TDI  W123 300D, (dads) 440,xxx miles and runs like a top on mobil 1 5w40

 my 86 560SEL has somewhere between 250 and 300K on the original engine.

81 240D 4 speek stick. 382000 miles. Original motor but re-built by second owner at 180000. Gear grinding issues, which have been discussed at some length on this forum. No Ac and I'm probably not going to fix it either. That thread's also a long one. Every suspension rubber is shot to hell and there are so many noises from every part of it every time you go near a bump it sounds like it's falling apart. But I still love driving it. I just hope I'll manage to recieve the 750K kilometer badge.

83 300D 304k miles
Pastel Beige 1983 300D with 304,250 miles and climbing.... original engine and tranny with all accessories working fine. Couple of nicks and scratches and some wear in the driver's seat but still a fine ride. I've been thinking about selling to get an SD, but second guess myself everytime I drive it

Well...Mine are just getting broke in.
87 SDL - 174K 86 SDL - 171K (currently undergoing engine transplant due to either low oil pan or high RR crossing...NO....I did not do it....) 99 F-350 CC Dually - 171K Recently sold 89 Mazda 626...108K All (with of course the exception of the 86 SDL) are doing find....The 87 SDL is getting about 28+ MPG, and purrs.....

1987, 300sdl, 317,000miles. Original engine, head and trans. Updated rad and vac pump 2006, b2 around 1999. Quaker State used until 307,000, now Delo 400. No blow by, coolant stays clean, timing chain marks line-up,body and interior original vg condition.
1987 Mercury Sable, 3.0 vulcan, AXOD trans. Ordered new, sold running in 2003, 357,000 miles, looked 3 years old. Always used Mobil 1, Mobil Syn trans oil started at 125,000. Trans rebuilt at 325,000. Begining to think high mileage starts at 400,000. Last edited by NJ300sdl; 12-10-2006 at 10:01 AM.

267,556 miles on all original everything (well except for flex discs, brakes.. ya know)
all windows work, cruise kinda works. AC needs a leak repaired, rear defroster works!.. need to adjust the transmision because its flaring a little and install a new alda or remove it
