Aren't there a pair of o-rings where the tube goes to the oil pan? I figure I may as well replace all that seeing how I'm going to yank the turbocharger here soon.

Yes there are two “O” rings about mid-way down the oil return lies at the junction where the bottom half connects with the top half of the return line
