Bleeding master cylinder
I just bought a rebuilt master cylinder for my 1985 300D. I put the master cylinder in my bench vise and ran tubes from the outlets back into the reservoir and started pumping. I got fluid coming out of the rear outlets with no problem. On the front outlet, the fluid just barely seeps out of the cylinder. Shouldn't I have good pressure coming out of each of the outlets?

My 240D has a two chambered reservoir. Might check your to see if it has two chambers as well. I had to fill the main res. up all the way to get any fluid to go into the other res. I bled mine empty and had the same problem, nothing comming out of the master cylinder.

I got it working with a combination of things - tapping on master cylinder, pumping fluid in through the outlet, tilting master cylinder to various angles - and it finally worked. I just gave up too quick the first time.
