Location of head number: 1987 300D
 

Hi,

I would like to find out which head I have and I can not find the number.

its next to the 2nd or 3rd injector starting from the front end of the engine. Youll see some numbers imprinted on the head one of them will be either 14, 17, 22 etc.

Just cross your fingers that you dont have a 14, if you do its ok just make sure to keep your car cool. and carry extra coolent in the trunk like i do.

Yay! I don't have a #14!! Does that mean that my head has been replaced (87)? Sure doesn't look like it has been.

You're still not out of hot water is you have a #15.

Nope not 15 either. It was either 16 or 20, I can't remember which.
