Why does my ALDA look different than yours, Daddy?

I was toying with removing my ALDA and want to learn why it is different than those pictured...any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your ALDA is the same. That rubber Y connector is what's different, not sure it's supposed to be there.

That Y connector is what is perplexing me...I have no clue why it is there. Anybody have any pics of the trap oxidizer (wondering if that's what we're dealing with)?

if your car is not a California car, there is no trap oxidizer
