Installing Sunroof windreflector

I bought this after marked sunroof wind deflector for my 300CD, the "manual" is not really helpful. How do I install this thing, do I have to remove the felt strips on the side?

Tnx

If it's an aftermarket one that replaces the stock one......I did a pictoral Thread on installing a new set of springs mainly to illustrate how the new style MB ones fit......search shorebilly and you will find it.....

If it's one of those that bubble up on top....I have no clue....

If it's one of those plastic smoked ones that go over the top (like the one I took off of my 124), you pull the felt out at the front of both sides, put the clips under the felt, one of the M-B screws has to come out at each side and go back in through the clips.

Or you can stash it in the shop like mine is.

I have a new one in a box. Bought at the dealer. $40 shipped, I think I paid $45 for it.
I would get new sunroof side seals before you do the install. I destroyed mine pulling them out on both cars. There are three screws for the slider track on the side, I removed the front ones, and loosened the other two. Seems to give you more room that way. Then, slide the bracket behind the slider track, line up the screw hole and put screws back in. Attaching the plastic to the metal tabs was the pain, took me and my dad leaning on the thing to install. After a year, I took it off to put it on another car, and it fit very well and installed easily. Guess it needed time to conform to the roof curve?
