Brake Band 2 replacement

My 81 SD would not move forward and I replaced the b piston and bushing without any improvement. How hard is it to replace the band. Or is there something else I should be looking at? I have the transmission out now. Any suggestions would greatly appreciated.

Accessing the actual bands will require complete disassembly of the transmission.

I'm in the process of doing it and it's not loads of fun, but definitely doable if you're meticulous and keep the area clean. The ATSG manual and the manual from carsoft.ru (don't have direct link off hand). This is assuming you have a 722.3xx transmission.

PM me if you need more documentation.
