Opinion of new windshield job
A few weeks ago I had the windshield replaced on my 1983 300D. I verified with the windshield business they had experience doing older MBs. Now the new rubber windshield gasket has started to crimp on the outside edge exposing the edge of the metal where the windshield meets. The old 23 year old windshield gasket was cracked but it didn't do this.
What would cause this? Please check out the photos and let me know if I should take the car back to the installers. Thanks

It's just tucked under the lip, get a credit card and pop it back out.

Is it an aftermarket of OE gasket? I have found aftermarket gaskets to be junk.

The window might be installed slightly high in the opening. How does the upper edge look? In good and tight?
I find that when installing the window, the assistant who is putting pressure on the window from the outside, must also put a slight downward pressure or the window has a tendency to creep up in the opening as the rope is pulled. |
