Help replacing the plastic pocket inside driver's door 1979 240D ?

can you give me info on replacing the plastic pocket on the inside of driver's door on 79 240D...or how to repair same. it is one of those rare plastics that crazy glue will not stick to any ideas?? olweasel@yahoo

There are two tabs, the one on the top rear corner slides backwards, while the one on the front, if it hasn't been opened since new, should turn 90 degrees and pull out. Hard to explain but be really careful, it's easy to break the plastic tabs.

There are also three or four tabs on the bottom edge, angle the pocket top edge outwards and then pull up out.

it is much easier to understand if you can peek up there behind the panel - I've been able to reach up and pull the metal clip out that supports the front tab and it makes it loose enough to get it out. so far I haven't been lucky enough to match my interior colors exactly, but an off color looks better than broken

Just be really careful in pulling the panel out, especially when it's cold outside...

If it turns out you need to use glue to repair broken plastic clips/retainers, you can try a product called Mr. Sticky. It's a two-part glue that works even in underwater applications. Quite an impressive product. There's also another one I picked up at a hobby shop that is a waterproof two-part glue.
If I recall correctly, it was a Devcon brand. When I tested these, they worked well. I repaired my driver's door panel assembly with this stuff and some tapping/threading of plastic behind broken heat rivets. Screwing in some machine screws with washers was part of it as well.

Top corner busted loose? Best repair is drilling it for sheet metal screw about 3/4" long set diagonal through thickest part of the broken corner and into a metal friction clip attached to the door panel with the panel completely removed.
