75 300D as a parts car for 79 300D

Would a 75 300D make a good parts car for a 79 300D as far as compatibility on the parts?

Not really, because the body style and other things changed in 1978.

maybe engine parts if they both have the same engine. OM617 N/A and maybe transmissions if they are too the same.

i am not sure what year the ac mounting changed. if the 79 still has the frankensteinn bracket for the ac then the engine will be very similar.

if not then there will be a lot of differences.

what parts were you needing?

Not many parts are common between those cars.

best bet is to hold out and wait for another 123, the pre 82 cars are pretty cheap. ( I got my 79 TD for 500.00) junk yards should have them too. but look around in the papers, or craigslist in your area.
