Next steps

Installed the FM100 Fuel manager this week with the help of the excellenct pictorial posted a little while back. Coincidentally our local alternative fuel station also started carrying B100.

First tank and the car is idling better and smoking less. 100 miles on and it really starting to drive noticeably different. Viton lines are on order.

This weekend its new seals for the calipers and flush the radiator again.
I've flushed it two weekends in a row and the water is still muddy looking.
I did notice that the new thermostat is resulting slightly higher temps.

So I paid a visit to the local "pick your parts" self service yard today, and got a few bits off a a beautiful 85 300D turbo.

Found a gold rack dampener that I cant use on my car.
Picked up a tack and the VDO unit in the engine compartment.

Lots of vacuum modules for behind the heating controls.
A really nice temp control setup and the passenger side brake pad warning plug that I needed.

20 bucks. :)

now i'm wondering if I can fit this tach setup to my N/A 81 300d.

ACC system is working perfectly finally. I cant believe it. Replaced two of the vacuum relays behind the controls, and tested all the lines heading out from there. The small rubber hose trees were old and stretched out so they were clipped and a RTV'd a bit. The new button panel is in perfect shape and looks nice when lit up at night.

Diagnosed the 3/2 valve and found the bottom of the two switches to be leaking badly. The funny thing is, the car shifted pretty good before but now that the ACC is fixed the shifts are brutal and only at high RPM. I guess the leaks were cancelling each other out.??

Back to the yard tomorrow for a few more bits off of the nice 85'.
