why the hell would somebody go through all the trouble of installing airbags and all that "safety" ***** and then cut out the fender tops and slam it to the ground.

some people are idiots.

whatever sells right??

edit: can you imagine how much crap sprays into the engine compartment?? scary. cool an airbag system that runs of a CO2 tank bolted to the middle of the trunk...awesome.

I agree....I can never understand this "pimp your ride" thing, take a mint car....pour gobs of money that will likely never be seen again into it, then drag its underside on the ground?? Looking at that suspension setup, I doubt its remotely as sturdy as the original MB suspension. Morons.

that is simply retarded. he simply can not drive that car around. not just mud but rocks and everything else he drives over will end up on your engine.

I've never understood the mentality behind spending all that money for bling modifications and not maintenance and gasoline for road trips.

What's been done here is to take a bassically good car, and basically make it unroadworthy, compromise the suspension, and make it virtually unusable, barely driveable and probably trash the resale value.

Air bags suck.As you drive the car basicly wobbles on the top cushion of air, the geometry is always changing. Now if it was hydros it would be a different story.

It is funny, i had to stare for a while to convince myself that it was a W126. with the lower stance it looks like a euro W116.

Now what was done IS a blasphemy...

I'm not so sure about that. I had a 94 (IIRC) Lincoln Town Car that I drove for a year or so. It had the full factory airbag system. I was amazed at not only how well it glided across the rough stuff, but how well it cornered. For a boat, it was amazing. Nary a hint of body roll. I'm sure it had some big sway bars under it, but the suspention still had to hold all that weight up.

That experience has me thinking of airbags for my Benz. But not for the lowrider aspect of it. I liked being able to pump 'em up to keep the car level when the car is loaded down during family trips, then soften it back up for cushy commuting. But I'm likely to just keep it as original as possible. Keep the resale up for the time when I need to upgrade. Besides, I've got other rigs to put tirck parts on.

That's because Lincoln designed the air system to the car. The kids that destroyed the MB just threw some parts on it to make it go up and down to look "good".
