Whole lotta repairs, will it tighten up?
I've got my 300SD at the shop. Last year when I got it I had to do a ball joint on the right. The car after alignment was still wearing tires on the outside.
I tried to get it aligned last week, and found I had control arm bushings that were bad, and the left ball joint. I decided to go whole hog. Motor mounts, engine shocks, control arm, swingarm, trailing arm bushings. It was time for a left ball joint as well. Now this is a 21 year old car... but how "new" should it feel after all this stuff? I figured all of it was worn, ought to do it all as the labor is about the same once you get it all apart. I am amazed by how much different tires do to change the car's characteristics. I have two of my spare rims off at powdercoat. I'm looking forward to mounting up some good tires and seeing how it goes. JP
