Great looking low mileage 240D 4speed on ebay

In case it was overlooked, I just spotted a great looking 82' 240D 4speed with 55K miles on ebay.

I owned a 74' 240D for a couple of years and really liked the economy of the ride. I just couldn't keep up with the freeway traffic in Phoenix.

Does the 82' model year have any more HP than my 74' had?

This appears to be a beautiful automobile for the right person.

That is a good looking 240D.

My only complaint is electric instead of manual sunroof. Interesting history - couple of owners died in the car.

It never said they died in the car

I'd be curious to see how much this car goes for. Not that I would pay it but I guess it will hit $10,000.

Yeah but the first guy bought this 240D to drive his wife around and when he died she garaged the vehicle. Then a neighbor got ahold of it and drove his wife around until she passed away. And now he's too old to drive himself. My guess is he got rid of the car before it killed him too.

(edit: This is a dead old people's low mileage 4-spd 240D, probly the best we've seen in awhile. History means alot and each car has it's own kharma. At point of purchase it's always wise to get as much personal info on previous owners as possible. This deffinitely makes a difference and improves the enjoyment of vehicle ownership knowing who owned it before.

The answer is simple. Buy the car and then take people you don't like for extended rides.

Awesome car......and an awesome price...for the seller!

I'd agree it'll go for over $10k with the stickshift, ipod radio, manual windows (nothing to go wrong!), and the miles!....oh, the miles. They must've hardly driven this car; it's over 20 years old and has 1/3rd the miles of my '99.

A very nice car indeed... too nice to even drive it. I would keep it the garage and drive it 4 times a year. It lasted this long in that nice of condition and it should keep going. In fact it should be a museum piece!

That car has the crisp look of a low milage gem. I was thinking the multiple deaths senerio was something else. . With this car you would have a slow death. :D A fast death being extremely unlikely .It will be interesting to see if it passes through 10k. This kind of item in this condition is a little hard to find. Also west coast prices are a little if not a lot higher in general on 123s. Could it make 15k?

Mine has the same specifications throughout.....minus the Ipod ready radio. Except for cheating and putting a lower mileage engine in with 132K now on the motor.

Looks like the car went for $9,100. That's actually a little less than I thought it would.

I'm suddenly feeling pretty good about the deal I got. Hitman, I bet you are too.....:D

Super original?

Except for a 39 gallon tank in the trunk and whatever wiring that involved.
