84sd climate control issue

I am haveing an issue with my climate control.

I am getting full heat all the time and i already checked the mono valve operation.

I think it is the inside temperature sensor or cc unit.

If i put it to full min on the dial the air gets cold but one click off of min and it goes to heat.

What do you guys think?

Steve

The fact that the heat shuts down with the temp wheel at the stop definitely rules out the monovalve.

Either the temperature sensor is faulty (likely) or the CCU is faulty (less likely).

Does the CCU perform correctly in all other modes?

Brian
yes it seems to change the vent selection and blower speed as normal, just the temperature is goofy.

I read in the manual that there is also a temp sensor in the heat exchanger too.

I will try replacing the inside temp sensor with a spare that i have and post results.

Thanks

Steve

There's a temp sensor on the evaporator which regulates the operation of the compressor so the evap doesn't freeze. But, that's not the current issue. The inside temp sensor is probably the culprit. It has a specific resistances at specific temperatures and can be tested.

update!

I replaced the inside temperature sensor today with a used good one and now my heat works perfect.

Real easy to change, just remove dome light and reach in the hole, pull sensor out and replace with new ( or used ) one.

Thanks Brian for your help.

Steve
