Thats a lot in labor! I hope it fixes the problem.

I wish I was rich like you and could afford to bring my MB to the dealer all the time.

Ha, I am practically broke now... Its the first time I've had to have the dealer work on it in over 14 months, so I'd say thats pretty good....I saved tons on doing other things myself. (many, many things )

I've been driving it (about 40 miles so far) and it drives awesome, ride is firm and solid, no wandering, tracks straight, steering is tight. Overall = awesome improvement, well worth it!

Are your front shocks original? When you recover throw a set of those on I bet you will be surprised.

I don't think they are the originals, but I am betting they're pretty old all the same. The front doesn't bounce much over bumps and is pretty firm, they are definatley in better shape than the rear's were. Eventually I'll throw some in and see what happens.

I also did my own valve adjustment (smoooth and powerful now!), and installed remote locking(works absolutely perfect!), ...
congrats on the tightened up ride Before you had the work done did the rear end wallow about a bit, sort of sway side to side somewhat when changing lanes at highway speeds? How big a job was the remote lock install?

By the by, the proper German would be the adjective "dieselsüchtig" for "addicted to diesel (diesels)" or the noun "Dieselsüchtiger" for "diesel addict."

Yes, the rear wallowed a lot, it usually tried to swerve the car OFF the freeway, thats what made me decide to have it tended too. It got progressively worse over the past 5-7k or so....so I decided it was time.

Thanks for the Deutsch correction, Mein Deutsch ist kein sehr gut.
