Hi my name is Rolf and I am an addict.

I bought a 85 300D w 332k miles on it yesterday for $500. Dark anthracite gray with a palamino interior. It has a bazillion issues but overall will make a nice candidate for my 4spd conversion. Time to start reading up on EGR removal and ALDA tuning!

Stay tuned for pictures.

I'm sick too!

I'd like to chime in that I'm newly addicted. So much that I have a separate bank acct just for Sophia. BTW she is an '85 300 D turbo too, same color as
Winmutts'!
I'm considering bartering with my indy mech! He asked me to sell his 300 SD for him. I might trade him that for him installing my coil fuel filter heater to a relay switch!

I think most everyone on this forum wants to have a perfect MB. But with three kids, a wife and two mortgages it can be difficult. Thank goodness the OM617 is so bullet proof. I am waiting in anticipation for my Euro rear bumper and Euro trailer hitch to get here in the mail. They are coming by boat and it is taking forever. I can't wait to bolt the parts on and have the Euro look for my wagon.

Besides the sickness of obsessing over my wagon, it is even worse because it is now a 22 year old car. The new diesel technology makes it really obsolete, and the looks are shall we say "retro". But what the hell, I still like the look of BMW 2002's. Gotta find an air dam for the wagon now.

I have seen lots of AMG dams on speurders..... The hard part (and most crucial) will be finding the AMG rear spoiler for the TD. I have yet to see one on a car other tthan the brochures..

Yepper, jump on that EGR/black box and associated vaccum lines. I just did a BB plug and play on the lines and blocked off the base of the EGR valve. I do think that cured about 108 vaccum leaks right there! When you checking/cleaning your banjo bolt...run that vaccum line all the way to the Alda looking for blockages and cracks.

I don't know if you are a real sick puppy....but sure got that look in your eyes!

I did the ALDA service pre purchase and removed the whole thing for inspection. I am going to start on EGR/misc part removal this evening. Its an 85 and I know these have more epa controls.... I will have pictures and questions tomorrow I am sure.

One of my Dad's friends has a Euro W123 280TE with the full AMG kit. It has the rear under-bumper valance, if that's what you're talking about.

There was a roof top spoiler as well. Thats the one I have never seen.

You can see it here http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AMG-Brochure-Mercedes-280-380-450-500-S-SE-SL-SEC-RARE_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ34227QQihZ005QQitemZ150063235697QQrdZ1

I have often thought the name of the board should be changed to "Diesel Dementia". truth in advertising and all. Oh yeah, back to the meeting protocol:
