holes on side of exhaust, can I use them?
Hello,
maybe I am dreaming but I swear I notice threaded holes on the side of the exhaust manifold. Can I use them? Does anyone know what size bolt will fit in there? Thanks A. |

What do you want to use them for? EGT probe?

selector valve
Converting the 300SDL to run WVO and this area seems like a good place to mount the selector valves for the supply and return.

I would be concerned with heat transfer to the parts. Why does the thought of fuel system components mounted to the exhaust system just send chills up my spine...

How about mounting a heat exchanger?
I guess what I need to know is how strong are the threaded holes? The HE is not light and I do not want to add too much stress to the metal. |

Even if I was putting an EGT probe I would stick it in the log where it collects.

Can the threading support any weight?
That is what I need to know. How much stress can be applied to the threaded holes in the side of the exhaust? What size bolt will fit into the threading? A |
