W210 German Propaganda Video :D
 

A cool video I came across on YouTube. I never knew that the Germans had all of these diesel options with the W210 chassis: E200 CDI, E220 Diesel, E220 CDI, E290 Turbodiesel, E300 Diesel, and E300 Turbodiesel. I knew they had CDI's and the E290 direct-injected diesel, but I especially didn't know they also had the E300 Turbodiesel. I thought that was a US-only model.

I knew you'd like this video. You're probably the biggest W210 addict on this board since you have 2 of them.:D I must say the propaganda is working even on me. Recently I was pondering whether to sell my E300, but after seeing this video I feel like no way am I gonna do such a foolish thing.:)

hahah.... there's 2 E300's in the Family :-) Senior has the '99 and I have the '97. It's funny though as you get used to the car you can forget what a nice car it is. Take a quick trip in any other car and when you return to the E, WOW all over again as if you first drove it.

Gotta admit, even though it has it's faults, it's one of the sexiest cars Mercedes has ever made. :book:

Nice. Today they are probably one of the best bargins on the used car market. Its amazing how much E320 you can get for your money these days!

I think that E290DT had the bigger 602 in it...think 603.971 with a cylinder chopped off :eek:...I wonder if they had rod bending problems with that motor too?

It was also direct injected and the next evolutionary step before the CDI engines.

That would be a nice replacement engine for an aging 190D 2.5T. :D

What really caught my eye was the 300D TURBO 4MATIC and E300 TURBODIESEL 4MATIC in the tech specs.

The final W210 diesels were 220, 270, and 320 CDIs.

4, 5, and 6 cylinder inline, respectively, all with same bore/stroke.

The W210 E320CDI has basically same engine as finally became available in USA for 2005 and 2006 W211s.

The five-cylinder is found in USA Sprinter vans, 2007 models (not here yet) will have the V6.

The new V6 is actually only 3.0 displacement, but is produced in different states of tune for E280CDI and E320CDI. (And corresponding C-class models in Europe.) That is same engine, different power ratings.

The only car that ever got me laid and on a consistent basis at that was my 73 VW beetle. Im 6'2 you have no idea how complicated of a venture that is.
