Well, a lot of you already probably know what i think:

Gold plate it and i buy !!!!

I like a lot the suggestion above about the stainless mesh with the three aluminum stripes. Keep it elegant a least.

On the question of the headlight doors I actually like the look of them painted black, grey or body color. A stainless headlight door would also look good ( i dislike the plastic crap around the DOT lamps.).
A lot of people in europe may disagree that DOT headlight look stock (Euro loghts ARE stock!).
