Tough electrical problem 350sdl
Problem: excessive battery drain when the SRS and ABS dummy lights come on intermittently when the car is running. if the lights do not come on, there is no battery drain and the car starts up fine. the car is a 1990 350sdl
What's been done: I have receipts for -new bosch alternator -new OVP relay -new autozone battery -new glow plug relay All within the past 3 months and correctly installed .it still has the problem. Please help me diagnose this problem. I would hate to think i got suckered when i bought this car.

So if the lights pop on during driving, then you'll have the drain when you turn it off?
I'd unplug the SRS module and go from there. It's on the passenger side, below the carpet. Be sure to disconnect battery prior to unplugging it. This will set off the dash SRS lamp but should eliminate any drain it could put on the car when the key is off.

jen
did you do any research on this car before you bought it?
until the problem is found, you could get some one to show you how to disconnect the + of battery if the car is to set for a while(long enough for the car not to start) larry perkins |
