Idle adjustment screw on 85 300D
Does anyone know how many turns it takes to get a noticable change in the rpm's. It took probably 2 turns clockwise to get a raise of approx. 150 rpm's. I thought it would be a little more sensitive. It is idles at about 800 rpms after the adjustment and has eliminated the rough idle. The car has 184K. Thanks.

That's strange, mine is a lot more sensitive than that. As I recall, about a 1/2 turn will get me at least 150 rpm increase. No idea why yours is less sensitive.

Somethings not right. Even a 1/2 turn should have a significant change in RPM. Probably related to rough idle.
Check your timing chain elongation and it could not hurt to have your injection timing reset. |

Mine only adjusts about 1 full revolution...... No tach, but I would assume it raises my idle a couple hundred rpm's.....

I just had the timing chain checked and it was fine, also had a valve adjustment. How do you reset the timing on the injection pump? It might have been a little less than 2 turns but it sure seemed like a lot to me. Hopefully it won't hurt anything by turning it that much...ill see how it idles tomorrow after a long run.
