Nope. All W123's have the mechanical oil pressure guage. I have the ruined pants to prove it.....

a life? what better life could there be than wrenching on these fine automobiles? you have been a helpful member on this site for 3 years, and in that time you have helped TONS of us. (yes, me included) at your age, and with the know how you obviously posses, I will be surprised if you don't double that post mark in the next year. (hopefully, not too many oil threads in that time...) I'm glad you're here. keep wrenching!

The dash pic looks like it has the stockade fence in the backgound. The same fence that's in one of the 3/4 pics, but behind the car. Was the guy driving it around the yard taking pics at different angles? I can't read the dates on the pics with my crappy monitor, are they all the same date?

I figure he has bad oil pressure gauge and took a pic of the dash with something covering the windshield so the camera would focus correctly without glare.

I don't know, still looks like the fence to me. Just seems weird to move the car around to take pics when you can just walk around with the camera Although, as has been pointed out, there are several weird things to the trained MB eye (which mine is not yet ).

i saw that as well, but just figured he drove the car as close to the fence as possible because of glare. or the sun was setting since his time stamp is 5pm.

5 pm in September the sun would still be pretty high in the sky... probably. assuming the camera's date is correct... mine is not.

not true. if his time/date stamp is correct, the sun was getting low. it set at 6:48 that day. one hour later than most of these pics.
http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/astronomy.html?n=878&month=9&year=2006&obj=sun&afl=-11&day=1

anyway, has anyone spoke to him in person about this car?

nope, I sent him a question about the dash, but no response.
6:48... so the sun would have been about 18degrees above the horizon... there would have been a lot of shade from all the trees around the place and if the sun was dead on, quite a bit of glare. but actually, the pictures do not show the car moved. all angles appear to be the same direction on the lawn. look at the grass lines. of course, you cannot see the grass in the dash shot. it does appear to be the fence though. odd.

The car looks like it is sagging a little in the rear as well, so the new owner better be prepaired for some expensive suspension repairs
