300td on ebay, good laugh
Check out the picture of the dash. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Beautiful-Clasic-1985-Mercedes-Benz-300-Diesel-Wagon_W0QQitemZ250076475793QQihZ015QQcategoryZ6330QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I'm sure the oil pressure gauge is wrong, but check out this picture. No oil pressure at idle! Nice car otherwise... Kevin 1979 240D manual 1984 190D manual |
I guess it is rare like the seller says. It's not everyday you see an engine run with no oil pressure. I wonder if it has a new R&D Dept "oil less" design.:D
|
That dash pic looks like it is either photoshopped, or the dash is not in the car at the time of the pictures...

the fuel/temp/oil pressure gauge is newer than the speedo and tach...the needles are a darker shade of orange.
could it be possible this shot was taken with the car recently turned off? |

Maybe the bourdon tube on the oil pressure gauge leaks and was disconnected....

Notice all the pictures are from last September according to the date stamps.

the high quality engine pics have me sold.

Didn't the 85's have an electric oil pressure gauge?
EDIT: Just hit the 2000 post mark. I need a life. :D |
I agree on the dash pic, thats wierd.
Looks like a repaint, the licence plate holder is blue - is that normal? It looks like whoever vacuumed it took a lot of time to make those interesting triangular marks in the carpet. Whoever is selling needs to learn how to take some close up pics. |

Three things:
1) Why would they screw the wood trims back on? Glue works wonders. 2) Are palomino interiors usually this ugly? I'm not a fan of tans any lighter than bamboo, but this one looks particularly pink. 3) Looking at this ACC panel, is it possible to trim one for use with manual climate control? Is the wood too thick to be easily cut with an x-acto blade? With the perceived rarity of wagon model w123s, it is easy to see a decent wagon going for 5k-- the price isn't so far off if the mileage is accurate and the car checks out ok... sedans are going for $3,000-$5,000, why wouldn't a wagon go for $6,500-$7,000? There are a lot less of them to go around. **edit** The picture reminds me why I didn't use one of the ACC panels in the first place-- Nevermind :) |
That is a very nice picture
Of that six cylinder engine
