If it is truly OG then I would say it is worth that amount.. also where are the mercedes stickers on the windscreen. I thought all the W123s had the stickers

It's really nice, but non-turbo for $10k? Seems higher than I thought it should fetch.

I believe that the one owner component makes the pirce high. I can see that making it worth more, however, it is still an earlier W123 has does not have some of the refinements found in later W123's.

The guy presents his cars well. It's not perfect. There are interior bits with wear beyond what he has shown with previous cars. I'm willing to pay too much for these cars but 10000 seems insane.

I'm wondering.. Were the wheel wells painted the same colour and the spare tire depression seems to be painted a beige.. but it also appears to be a factory colour

i say so, picture 30 shows some blue on the bottom of the rear window seal. picture 31 and 33 show some on the front bottom and side windshield seal as well.
but man, that engine sure is nice and clean.

This car has been repainted. The give-away is picture 12:

The front valence on these cars should be black on the very botton, so to explain, it goes bumper, opening, original painted surface followed by a 120' angle, followed by a surface almost perpendicular to the ground. I remember in a discussion about a car at the mercedes museum, there is a green 240d and it was painted body color, and someone called the classic center and found that that bottom most piece should indeed be painted black.

Here is what it should look like (not this dirty though):

I generally admire this guy's cars, but this one isn't nearly as nice as his others and the pictures really fail to show the quality of the repaint. The light is so harsh that any potential orange peel is undectable.

Since the pictures suggest the car has been repainted, I'm concerned that the seller would so blatantly lie about it ("no signs of repaint"). I don't have a problem with a well-done repaint but I do have a problem with the seller's honesty. What else has been concealed?

Aside from that little problem, it certainly is a nice-appearing car. The lack of cracks in the dash and puckering in the door moldings is rare and perhaps compensates for the loss in value of the repaint. Still, $10K is a lot for a '78 NA with 130K miles. If it had 10K miles it might have value as a collectible.

The wheel well should be black too. I also like the bad stuffing in the side of the driver's seat and the peeling paint on the top of the front wheel wells (in the engine bay shot). Is that a patch in the MB tex on the very left edge of pic 46?

That car looks very similar to mine. Since mine is turbocharged and manual is it worth $12,000??

there are way too many signs to count of the repaint... the guy must be a liar, if not an idiot. paint on the a/c condenser, paint on the door checks and paint on each door latch... kinda sad.
