It seems the top notch 150K+ ones go for 4K or so. You haven't given us a whole lot of info to work with though.

As has been mentioned in other threads, book value for these cars usually doesn't mean much. But I have looked up my 85 300d on edmonds, I think it was. Maybe NADA--can't remember off hand. But whatever it was, it had a special section for cars older than 87. I remember looking at the value and saying to myself, well, if I could get THAT for my car, I'd be inclined to sell it. Something like 5k low, 7k avg. retail, and 9k upper retail. Makes the 4,200 I've got in the car sound not so bad. Good luck.

Your best bet is to, over the course of a few months, track the selling price of several examples that are close to the condition of yours on eBay.

I recently sold my 1984 300SD for $6k, but the car was in perfect condition without a spot of rust anywhere. I had maintained the car to a high level and made several upgrades (lights, wheels, etc).

Thanks, Nada worked. I never realized they did classics. Anyway, The car is well above average exterior wise, very good - excellent interior, and mechanicly running perfect........I'm gonna hate to see this go

www.nada.com has classic car values

He is a link but keep in mind these are just guides and it doesn't mean this is what you will get. As far as insuring goes I believe you really need to take it to a proffesional to have it appraised ever so often, but talk to your insurance rep.
