Interesting hubcaps

I haven't seen these before... can't say that I like them better than the standard painted hubcaps but I thought they were interesting.

Hmm, I guess it would be cheaper than pulling the tires off and putting them on Real bunts... if you wanted bunts on your car... I have 4 sets of bunts including the spares if anybody wants some real ones...... I like the steel wheels, or 15"ers.
heh.

I believe that set of hubs was on a eBay car a while back, some pics showed the caps, some pics showed real bunts... eBay what a place...

Why didn't anyone tell the designers of the bundt wheels that they look like *ass*?

They's not pretty.

i had a set of those on one of my 240s when my kids were driving it. they are a lot cheaper than a proper painted one.

the kids tended to be a bit hard on the wheels and wheel covers.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I guess, but I can't imagine wanting REAL bundts, let alone fake ones. Not that they're outrageously ugly by any means, but I always felt painted hubs looked much better on the 123, and the 126 got MUCH sexier when they switched wheels in 86.

Actually bundt cakes were waay ahead of their time. The fins created massive air flow straight across the discs and calipres, cooling the brakes. Hence front bundts generally got covered with black brake pad dust. And then owners *****ed about constantly having dirty wheels - so MB discarded the idea of vented alloy wheels designed to improved braking efficiency, preventing warped rotors, etc.

I can't see how anyone could dislike rims with such heritage as these. MB must have had a good reason for using them on nearly all of their models from 1968 to 1985.

And what I think is the most beautiful of all...

I like the bundts a lot, and all of my 123 cars have them. I've also got like 5 extra sets of five. I would like a set of steelie's though with hubcaps for one of my cars, simply to change something on atleast one of them. They all came from the factory with them though I guess, because all my 123 cars, are 300CD's..Anyone wanna trade? All of mine have either nice, or even brand new tires on them, and most of the spares have probably never seen pavement.

What is up with the huge shipping costs lately?

It also seems like too many people are trying to make a full time living off of eBay. No matter what you are looking for, you have to wade through a mountain of cr@p to get to the hadfull of listings the might interest a buyer.

Try it, just type in make, model, year of a vehicle and you have to look at "car covers, neon lights, turbo air filters, headlight bulbs....." ad nauseum.

To top it all off, most full time sellers have become full time jerks. Demanding payment within five to seven days, but then waiting two or three weeks to ship item out, and no response to emails.

Please do not post pics of these models......it causes me to lose all sensibility to the degree that I am willing to give up my home for one of these.
