Running the '92 300D without cooling fan

I have been running the '92 300D without the belt driven cooling fan while sorting through some issues. Ambient conditions are staying below 55dF and I do not drive it in traffic. The temp, as indicated on the instrument cluster, does good to get up to 80dC. I was troubleshooting a bad oil leak and found the large fastener that holds the tensioner was loose. Still watching it though.

The car does not need much more to make it right and my plans are to set it up for my daily driver. I like the way it drives on the interstate better than the w123's. In addition, I'll have heat inside the car versus the 240D.

There are two fans mounted in front of the a/c condenser. I have not seen them come on yet. The car has been converted to 134 refrigerant and my plans are to eventually "take it back" to r12.

I take my fan off for late fall/winter/early spring. Works fine for me, it never overheats even with an occasional traffic jam and no electric fan.
