German wheels are what they call hubcentric. They are machined to fit with a slip fit onto the hub. Because the tolerances are tight they will rust on sometimes. Take a rubber mallet and bang on the back of the wheel as you spin it around. It should break lose. If that does not work, use a hammer with a block of wood to shield the wheel from damage.

After a brake job I will usually smear a light coat of grease on the hub where the wheels will contact so no moisture can get in there and rust the wheel on.

you may need to get in there with some penetrant, and even sand a little on the hub if there is a lot of build up. Certainly clean off any rust with a wire brush and grease it as mentioned above before you put it back on.

I haven't done this, but understand that if you loosen the lugnuts slightly and then lower the car so that the weight of the car is on that wheel, rolling the car back and forth may break the wheel loose.

also, I am NOT insulting you with this, but just to be SURE, you know there are lug bolts here, not lug nuts... right? some wheels have lug nut covers, leaving the bolts still in the wheel.
also there are 5 bolts right?
and for SURE if you are hammering on the underside of the car, BE SURE you have the car SECURELY supported! the official MB jack is not the preferred supporting method...

yeah i removed all 5 lugs... i did check that when i was first having the problem i have the car on jack stands but im not too keen on crawling under there without the wheels on... i may end up taking it somewhere to have it done but im not quite at that point yet

good point, kick the tires top and bottom over and over, it sounds counterintuitive to be putting pressure pushing the tire on, but it will loosen up the rust and the wheel will come off.

Wow that wheel hasn't been off in a decade! Just smack it with a rubber sledge hammer it will pop.

kick....
Sledge....
Loosen the lugs, and drop the jack...
It's all the same.....

Just make sure you wire brush the hub, and put some antiseize on the hubcentric part, before you re-assemble. That will help.

yet another update... i was finally able to get it off after lots of LPS and kicking... i am going to put a very thin layer of grease on the hub to prevent (hopefully) this from happening again
