in my 1980 300sd the defrost switch is stuck in the on (pushed in) position and the off button will not stop it. does anyone know the number of the fuse that controls this...??
my battery just died and thats the only reason that i can think of...that is possible right? lyle |

Unless your battery were old and weak, I wouldn't think the climate control blower, even running on 'high' all the time, would draw enough current to kill the battery while the engine is running (and the alternator generating power). With the "ignition" switch turned off, there should be no current drawn by the ACC system at all. Sorry I do not have a fuse list for your car.

Don't have a list, yet you might want to replace all with copper fuses if you can find them. I pick 'em up here http://**************.com Also you might try pushing any other button to get away from defrost. Its one of those push one in the other pops out. Sounds like you'll have to pull unit to repair/replace.
