Lower radiator hose heater
Installed a Zerostart one in my 85 TD today. Took about 45 minutes and seems to be working fine. I used the 1 1/2 inch model. No problem getting the 1 3/8 hoses on to it.

By "no problem" do you mean you only had to curse at it a few times before it would cooperate?
Mine took some coaxing...how's it work so far? I today is the first day I've driven mine since installing the heater, and I wanted to make sure I drove it around to get any air to burp out of the hoses before using the lower hose heater. I'll be plugging it in tonight... |
I took the hose off to cut out a section to install the heater. Putting the hoses on the heater was no problem at all. No cursing.
I filled up the system via the top radiator hose and knew the lower hose was full because coolant was coming out the top of the radiator. I plugged it in and it got hot very quickly. |
