Well I have come upon some AMG Rims at a good deal. they are 15" so i think they should do fine on my SD.. which is riding on 15" centras right now with mosterous 275/75 tires..
This gives is a realy distinguashable look. it dosent Sag like some other sd's ive seen. But the question now is i want to do somthing that has not been done before.. i want to mount bigger tires like SUV tires like Michelin XPS Traction or somthing of that sort. I want a more rugged offroad bad-boy type of look. I think this would make it original .. I also talked to a muffler shop about doin a glass-pack or a straight pipe.. any other ideas..? wacco diesel lover, jivesh |

I bet those tires would be pretty noisy, and I really don't know what straight pipe or a glasspack would sound like on a diesel, but I'm sure it would be loud. Kind of defeats the purpose of having a luxury sedan (not to mention an S-class!), in my opinion. If you want a rugged off-road appearance, sell your car and buy a Land Rover! You'll still have all of the luxury in a nice go-anywhere package.
If you want to make it look really different, save your money and get a chameleon paint job (Dupont ChromaLusion paint, to be specific) - it's expensive stuff, but it sure does look distinctive and you'd probably have the only SD in the country that's painted that way. See this picture of an Acura Integra in chameleon: and then this picture: As you can see, the color changes depending on your angle. I believe you can get just about any colors you want (up to a certain point), but the cost of the paint goes up as you add more colors. The purple/green/blue/yellow look is a popular chameleon scheme that is used on the car in those pictures. Adding some european lights will also make a dramatic difference in the car's appearance, and your AMG wheels will also look great. If it were my car, though, I would pair the wheels with a set of nice grand touring tires. Try Michilen MXV4's or Continental ContiTouring Contact's, both of which are standard equipment on a lot of new european luxury sedans these days. |

Are you serious about putting a glass pack on your diesel?

paint
Would you have to purchase addition insurance for one of those paint jobs being that any body work would cost ten times as much in the efforts to match up that paint?
