WHICH kind of glow plugs
Want to change the glow plugs on my daughter's 240D, an early 1978 war dog. Haven't pulled them yet, but according to the listings they are the early "loop style" plugs. Should I buy the same, or should I "update" to the newer pencil style?
Thanks!

all depends on how long you want to wait till you start and if you want to stay origional or not.
the new pencil style heat the prechamber faster, more efficent and if you hook them up right if one fails you still have 3 more that will get you going till you get it replaced. there is a slight beit more involvement in the wiring. DieselGiant has a write up on doing it. The old loop ones...well you have them so you should know they are slower in heating and if you #1 breaks you have no glow anywhere. IF it was me i would go with the new style.

I would go to the new style.. Little extra $$ but you get a good start up and the assurance if one goes at least 3 will work
