W210 Seat Popping
Hi All,
I have an E300TD and I have this issue with my driver's seat. Whenever I put pressure into the back of the seat I hear a slight "pop" and the base of the right side of the BACK of the seat (doesn't seem like the whole seat) rotates/moves back a teensy bit. It almost seems like a tooth or other mechanical stop in the pivoting mechanism is rounded off and allowing it to slip back a tad. It even happens on normal acceleration, which is really annoying. I've tried moving the seat components around to various positions and it always happens no matter what the position. Any ideas? Thanks, Ray |

Each one of my 210s did the same thing. Must be a design flaw. I have no idea what caused it.

Sorry I am sending you to another board.
Here is a link to this problem, I have not noticed on mine, but I kept in case.
You may have to be logged in as a member there to view attachments. But this does seem to contain a comprehensive solution to your issue. http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w210-e-class/1263433-seat-makes-cracking-noise.html I have not even looked at all the info in it, just have it in a folder here. Please update this post with any additional insights and/or tips on this and if it did in fact resolve your issue.
