Mine was leaking there shortly after I got the car 3.5 years ago....it was the front main seal of the transmission, had the dealer go through and replace every seal in the thing for $1000, so far so good....40,000+ miles and 3.2 years later. If thats really where its coming from its probably the front torque converter seal.

What Do I need to do to fix this leak? I don't have a dealer for a good drive away. Also, if it can be done I like to try. But there's definitely a leak (trans. fluid is thickest) at the shiny silver section. whatever that silver section is...

I'm guessing the transmission's comin off to get to that. Anyone know?
Thanks!

It's been my experience that any time there's a leak that comes out of the bellhousing, oil or trans fluid, the trans has to come out to fix it.

The leakage does have a red tinge if it is transmission fluid. It most likely is the front transmission seal if it has.
