Has anyone here ever converted a gasser into a diesel?

Well? I am talking about models where there was either a gas or diesel option. The W126 for example, had gas and diesel engines (depending upon the year)... I am wondering if anyone has attempted this and how difficult was it?

I am guessing it would be the engine electrical that would be the biggest problem (since they are different electrical wise as well) and it would probably cost more than its worth.... like the gassers having an "o2" sensor warning light and the diesel having the glow plug warning light, etc... would probably run into complications....

Probably just better off just buying a factory diesel model?

Thumbs up

A few have swapped 617s into SECs and SELs. You're really better off starting with an S-class Diesel.
