What's all that oil doing around that bearing cap? Have you been changing it?

Looks like you are getting some metal build up in the oil. Time to change it.

Actually, it runs amazingly well for three cylinders. I bought it with the thrown rod since the rest of the car is so nice. It's a shame I didn't get to see the show when the cap flew off......

I'd like to replace it with a new C220 CDI but I don't happen to have one lying around.......

Seriously, just need a good long block (or short block). Anyone have one?

its cool. you can actually put in less oil now, because youre raising the level of oil by having those metal peices in there.

are those prison anklets for a chihuahua?

you should do the brick in the toilet anyway. saves lots of water. or just buy a super low flush.

You seemed to have discovered a way to lessen the anxiety of when the #1 rod is going to let go on the 240d. Over 90 percent of the time when a knock is present in a 240d it seems to be the #1 connecting rod for some reason. If not dealt with almost right away it usually destroys the block.
