Redline?

Read below, dose anyone use this redline product?

Re: Heating diesel for efficiency, would this help an old 300CD|?

Heating would be a waste of money and effort. If your 79 is not running well, and you aren't using RedLine diesel catalyst - Start using it. I used it in a 79 300CD from day one to 425,000 miles and it never smoked or started hard. I currently use Redline in our 82 300SD and 84 300CD both have over 200K miles and run like new - you can floor them and they don't smoke.

I have used it for years and it's good stuff. I wouldn't say it eliminates all smoking though. I do find it keeps things cleaner and definitely boosts the cetane a bit. I thinks others have had more or less the same results with competitive products.

I've used it. It won't prevent smoking IMO.

As I recall, it's about $6 for about 12 oz (enough for a few tanks of diesel). I've tried it a few times without any really noticeable results, it may be worthwhile as a cetane booster.

Not anymore, I buy it at Autozone for around $5/bottle,a bottle treats either 100gal or 150gal (I'd have to look at the bottle). Same stuff as RedLine 85+, different bottle.
PepBoys carried it also, and I think other chains.
BTW their gasoline fuel system cleaner is SO MUCH better than the others out there, try it also.

Good stuff, can replace an Italian tuneup. I use a whole bottle in a tank to clear sticky injectors (sorta like Diesel Purge). Won't fix bad injectors, though.
