I found some decent ones from empire. This cover was a replacement cover for a custom cover that cost three times as much and started leaking water and collecting dust under the cover in less than a year. My Empire cover is 4 months old, has survived numerous strong thunderstorms and seering Texas sun, and so far is exceeding my expectations. I have 3 cars under cover, soon the other two will be covered by Empire.

I got mine from Pep Boys when it was on sale a couple of years ago..$80 when usually $120 at Xmass sale.
Mine has a nylon STRAP which goes under the car... fastens with a luggage type buckle.
You have to check on the box for what it fits.. '
does not have pocket for star... but seems to hold up well..
has soft inner lining...

I had a custom ordered one for my 240D. Complete with hood star pocket, dual mirror pockets and correctly placed antenna grommet. It was a nice soft beige cloth that was 98% water repellent. I really liked it. It kept snow and dust out completely, so it kept the snow from getting inside my car through leaky seals. It had a cable and grommets for strapping it under the car, so it wouldn't blow off. There was no wind in the forecast, I SWEAR! But sometimes we get a canyon wind, when nobody else does. We had 3 ft of snow on the ground, when the 70mph winds hit. I hadn't secured it with the cable. The next morning parts of my yard were bare, while others had 10 foot drifts. Even though I went looking for it early the next day, I couldn't find it. I held out hope that it would show up when the snow melted. Unfortunately that didn't happen till April. I never found it. I can't recall the brand, but it seems like it cost about $200.

I replaced it with one I bought from Costco, that I'm not thrilled with. It's too plasticky. Seems like it would scratch. It's also a custom fit, and cost $129. Now I park the car in my garage.

Wish I knew where you got that $200 cover. I could use one for my 240.

My Griots cover for the wagon has the grommets and a cable with a lock. After what happened I make SURE my cable is on. That cover was $400!
