Just clocked mine over 400 miles of "city" driving, and it's right over 25mpg...
Over all pretty impressive for a 4800lb car.

i was getting around 27mpg. but that was before i adjust the idle and rack damp. pin. right now i have B100 in it, so ill check by the end of the week i think .

I was getting 26-27 but now I am getting 22-24 not sure why. I wonder if this low sulphur stuff is doing it. How would I test this? I would really love to breach 30mpg suggestions? (I have a 76 300d)

i'm getting close to 30mpg, slight drop on winter diesel!, i'll take that, cosidering its a 25 year old 2 ton car

300SD81 03-07-2007 08:40 PM

Probably way down, since I turned my ALDA all the way up, switched to home made biodiesel

JackG 03-07-2007 08:42 PM

just did a road trip (in 84)and was getting about 25 highway, keeping it at 30-3200 rpm.I have been using cetane boost and 2 cycle oil in the other ( 83)one to boost mpg....about 27mpg combined

dauber 03-07-2007 08:50 PM

Mine was at 30 for 1/2 city and 1/2 freeway driving.

My mileage has dropped to around 42mpg. VW diesel Caddy 1.6NA 4spd.

20-24mpg in the 1 ton dodge cummins.

Haven't driven any of the MBs diesels far enough lately to check then but I've always averaged around 27mpg from a 617 powered W126.

TMAllison 03-07-2007 09:00 PM

600 miles a week, 1/2 at 80mph, 1/2 at 20mph. Getting 31mpg on D2 and 28mpg on B99.

ChicagoJones 03-07-2007 09:04 PM

I've been getting about 26-27 mostly highway driving.

rkerste219 03-07-2007 09:13 PM

average 29 mostly highway

240d 4 speed manual

Between 22-24 with my ALDA maxed out. I won't really check it again till it gets cold in the fall because I've got my two tank wvo system up and running again (burned out the fuel pump) and I blend about half bio at my house with half pump diesel. When it gets warm I'll run straight bio in the main tank but most of the time I'll run off my aux wvo tank.

In the fall, or if I go on a road trip this summer, I'm going to turn my ALDA back down a turn or two to see if I get better mileage.

aklim 03-07-2007 09:57 PM

Mix of city and highway 30. Theoretically, if I were going at 85mph with cruise control, I would get 33 mpg
