w115 1976 300D AC Bushings

Ok I found the source of my rattling noise when cold or at low rpm (at a light etc..) its the AC Compressor. the Rubber mounting bushing things that the bolts go through are shot.

Where can I get replacements for this ? for now I am going to loosen them and shove a piece of tire tread in there and re-tighten. Just tightening them a little has dramatically lowered the noise levels of the rattle but it was never very loud just concerning to me as I wanted to know what was shaking itself apart. I was under the bonnet checking out the air filter (I assume its the giant canister with the hose that goes into the metal manifold looking thing that then goes to the engine. it was solid but AS I was checking this I leaned on the AC Compressor and Viola the noise stopped :-) I let it go it came back etc.. etc.. then I noticed how much it was jiggling around like a crazy belly dancer on crack :-) hehe

SOooo where do I get these bushings (I can clearly see they are pretty chewed up) ? the tread chunk will definitely work but I would prefer to fix it right in the long run.

Thanks!

Performance Products lists bushings for the York compressors in their online catalog. Look under 123 chassis, the bushings are the same.

I think the York compressor was used in 123's from about 77 to 79 or so.

Maybe I am just looking in the wrong place :-) but I "can not" pick mercedes 123

I have to pick mercedes then year THEN MODEL such as 240D or 300D example I know the 300D is a 115 chassis but I can not pick 115 I have to pick 300D :-)

there is no 123 option (at least none I could find). so which "model" is a compatible 123 chassis ?

Thanks

A 240D or 300D from 77 to 85 would be a 123. The York was used on the 123's from 77 for a couple years. Therefore if you look under 1978 240D, you should be able to find the bushings. Sorry for not posting a link, but they are a competitor to Fastlane, so that wouldn't be cool, even though Fastlane / Worldpack don't list those parts in their lookup.

there is never shame in posting a link to a competitor especially if its not a competitor (ie one does not carry something its not competition) and if fastlane is a good company they would never mind that :-) competition keeps everyone honest and fair :-) BTW what is the link for fastlane might as well browse around them some (its not fastlane.com already tried that goes to quest com :-)

I will check them out for 78 240D and your sure its the same bushings ?

Wow them bad boys are almost $8 a pop!! what are the THIN ones and where do they go? I assume the think ones are the ones I am seeing up top which are the ones I need. I am not even going to try to get to the lwoer ones but would like to know where they are used :-)

No idea which size goes where. I think RLeo did this job a year or two ago. PM Randy and ask him about it.
