Injector return lines bite the dust..

Well it looks like ULSD killed the injector return lines on the SDL over the winter. Today I popped the hood for the first time in many months, and sure enough they were all wet. They were dry in October. The return line on injector number 5 failed completly and made a bit of a mess, oh well.

The surprising part is that I replaced these lines in 2004/5, I'll have to check my service records. They are also the updated black ones.

Yet the probably original fadded yellow return lines on the SD are still as dry as can be, go figure.

Such is life, off to the dealer tomarrow for some new ones.

Same thing happened on both of mine shortly after the introduction of ULSD.

Yah, me too. I noticed a puddle under the 85 240 and when I looked under the hood, fuel was RUNNING out of the broken return line on # 3 (the worst too get to ), I had just fueled up and driven home.

Thumbs up

I started to carry an extra meter of them with me, along with filters just in case.

Mine are still good. No leaking and they have not hardened.

Well I've replaced allot of "weeping"return line but I've never had it "running" out. I wonder how much fuel I lost on the 4 mile drive home from the gas station

Heck with that I'm not spending $30! I wonder what the dealer will charge me, man I havn't bought much lately so I don't get as many freebie's.

I'll replace the currant set and keep an eye on them, hopefully the new ones last longer.

I thought the updated ones were gray, at least the ones I purchased in 05 or 06 at the dealer were.
