What can a guy get a nice black face set of guages online? EGT, Boost..and so on?

Try egauges.com

http://www.egauges.com/vd2_main.asp

They have lots of choices. A picture of my three-gauge ashtray set is on the forum somewhere, search for "gauges" and my ID as poster.

Anyone know a gauge pod that would look good ontop of the dash on a 300SD? Or another location to mount them? I'd prefer not to have to cut/drill anything.

For which gauge, I think the VDO Cockpit gauges match the stock ones pretty well.

I got mine from egauges. They seemed to have the best prices.

The ISSPRO gauges have far better lighting than the VDO gauges.

I've been looking and it appears that a 99-02 beetle dash pod from Autometer has a similar enough curve that it would look neat on the cluster bump on my 80 SD

And the VDOs have much better lighting than the stock gauges.

You wouldn't want them to not match the dim glow of the main gauges...

IMHO, ISSPRO's EGT gauge looks the best and seems to be the most functional at a glance (handy color coding).

Gauges just seem too expensive to me... If I'm going to pay that much for a gauge its going to match my car!! I'm strange like that though...

I like the color coded EGT gauge but I went with this Autometer gauge from egauges.com. I have it in what used to be my ash tray and I'll be putting in a matching boost gauge when I get around to it.
