Either the rear wheels up or on a flatbed truck. Allowing the drive wheels to turn while towing will ruin the transmission in a short time.

I think installing 4 hoverboards, and attaching a tractor beam would be safe, perhaps the safest would be to enlarge the shields to cover both vehicles...

I tow mine on a tow dolly with the rear wheels up. PITA to load though as I need to use ramps instead of the tilt deck. If I try to use the tilt deck, the muffler does not clear.

i was going to tow a 300d from richmond, va to charlotte, nc with a rented uhaul dolly. so i called up the rental office and they started asking questions.
where are you going to/from, what are you towing, what are you towing with...they wouldn't let me rent it since i said i was towing the 300d with a 96 jeep cherokee (pos i know, it's my mom's), and the jeep weighed LESS than the 300d LOL. the towing vehicle has to weigh a certain amount more than the vehicle being towed or they won't let u do it..........you know ur driving a 3500 pound haus wehn they won't let you tow it with a 3000 pound suv...

is it really THAT dangerous...or is it just a precautionary measure by UHaul?

you may be able to tow it on a trailer with brakes. the uhaul trailers have surge brakes. they are really nicely designed trailers.

Mojool,
That must be std procedure for UHaul, Probably Lawyers involvement. I had to haul a VW Jetta 280 miles and received the same third degree questions. I was using a 1 ton Ford van for a tow vehicle.

A question however, Can I tow a 300D four wheels down, if I disconnect the drive shaft ??? The tow vehicle will be a 35 ft Ex Greyhound Bus.

Thanks & best of luck Mojool,

Gary

yes of course.

kindof a pain disconnecting the shaft though, imho.

is it to be a permanent deal? might be worth converting to stick if it is. for myself flat towing on a regular basis would be hard to take. i think i would put it on a trailer.

the only problem with towing a MB 300D with a tow bar is the lack of brakes... of course, a greyhound bus should be heavy enough to handle it... I would not do it with less than an astro van.
