I have been looking for a donor car for my 1946 Dodge pickup
project , and I found one ... I think . I just bought a 1980 300t wagon , It shows 184k and the price was right . I only need the engine and trans . So if anyone needs any other parts let me know . Now can anyone give me some info on the engine , it is currently near non running , as the previous owner lost seal at oil filter . I don't know the extent of the damage yet but they say it runs but has a knock now. The tag under the hood says it is a T123 engine . Is it worth fixing ? I am going to guess it has a bad crank at the least I have a friend with an 85 300 SD engine for sale . will the 85 turbo engine work with my 80 non-turbo tranny ? I had assumed that as that the car was a 300 T that it was a 300 turbo , not so . The under hood inindicates that it has 83 Hp . any input or info on this swap or about the tranny . would be helpful . Thanks to all !! |

From what I've read, the head on the t engine is slightly different because it has a provision for the hydraulic suspension on the wagon? I think the turbo engine will probably work with the non turbo trans.
